Luna Parc

This past weekend, two old friends joined Arthur and me for a day trip to Ricky Boscarino’s Luna Parc open house. I had been once before, but for the other three, it was a first introduction to the place and to Ricky’s incredible work. Apart from being a superb silversmith (I bought a fabulous new pair of earrings!) and an innovative ceramic artist, he has transformed his home into a mosaic marvel – and the work is not done yet!

This little house is constructed of cement and blue bottles and it just makes you feel like smiling the minute you see it. Step inside and you are transformed!

I know some of you think that my little (30 foot) wall is pretty impressive, but not compared to what Ricky does! He really is a one-of-a-kind and he is the real deal. If you go to his web site ( you can take a virtual tour of his home and studio and find a listing of any of the craft shows where he will be exhibiting this summer. Luna Parc will also be featured on TLC in July. Don’t miss it!

About Susan Guagliumi

I am an author, craftsperson and a gardener. My proposal for a book tentatively titled "The Artful Gardener" was just accepted by Stewart, Tibori and Chang Publishers. Although this will be my fifth book, it is the first outside the area of hand/machine knitting. The manuscript is due early in 2013 and the book is scheduled for Spring of 2014. A somewhat longer process than giving birth to a child, embarking on an author's journey can be just as daunting, exciting and almost as fulfilling.
